In this class we learned about e-commerce. One thing that interested me was the fact that we are running our of IP addresses under the current IPv4. The solution to this problem... switching to IPv6 which provides more IP addresses along with better security.
I continue to read scary reports that we'll be out of IPv4 addresses by next summer....but I think we can recycle some underused ones to delay the inevitable somewhat.....
ReplyDeleteWOW... that's much sooner than I would have thought if those reports are accurate. I'm not sure how the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is done, but I can't imagine we are ready for it at this point. If so, I imagine it would have already happened. To add to the mess, there seems to be more and more wireless capable devices every day, like the new internet ready TVs.
